London based Choreographer considering moving to New York

I recently moved from Madrid to London to be with my boyfriend. He is originally from New Jersey and now wants to move back as he lived in London for 10 years. I have not long find my feet here in London and I worry that it could be tough to find work in New York. I am not sure a long distance relationship would work as we struggled when I was in Madrid and he was in London. I am looking for anyone who has worked in theatre/film/music in New York as I would love to know what it is like. Anyone who dances in NYC or USA would also help.
